based at Parexel’s Clinical Unit in

Harrow (located in Northwick Park hospital). Do you have practical laboratory experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or research institute? Are you practical and dexterous? Then we would like to hear from you! As a Laboratory Assistant you will conduct and provide laboratory support for Clinical Pharmacology Studies under supervision in accordance with agreed protocols, and the principles of International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP) and assist in the conduct of Phase 1 studies across all therapeutic areas. You will be required to work early & late shifts plus availability to work weekends/nights is preferred. Key Accountabilities: To process blood, urine and other biofluid samples intended for clinical pathology, pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic investigations ensuring safe and appropriate handling, storage and shipment To assist in the conduct of Phase 1 studies across all therapeutic areas in accordance with ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and following local regulatory requirements and relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). Testing screening subject as part of the enrolment process onto clinical trials and additional tests to confirm subjects suitability for admission onto trials. Preparing study and laboratory documentation (forms, logs etc) as required. Supervising urine and faecal collections, measure/ weigh urine collection volumes/weights, weigh faecal collections Collect, process and label (where appropriate) urine, breath alcohol and other specimens (which includes simple laboratory procedures such as centrifugation, pipetting and freezing). Preparation of plasma, serum and urine samples incl. drug screen. Assist with daily monitoring, maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Complete CRFs, laboratory records and capture other data as required. Collate CRFs, laboratory and other results and perform quality control checks to ensure they are complete and ready for review and approval by Research Physicians Perform sample analysis using PCR and ELISA platform Prepare and handle reagents and solutions. Knowledge, Experience & Skills: Relevant laboratory experience, including aseptic technique Relevant experience of laboratory in the pharmaceutical industry and/or research institute Practical and dexterous. Computer literate. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Client focused approach to work A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork Education: A’ levels in science subjects HND or Degree advantageous Apply now to begin your journey!
