About the company Specialists in the food industry, our client is currently looking to recruit a Lab Assistant to work at their site in Wokingham.
Job Description As Lab Assistant, your main responsibilities include: Efficiently administering samples for scientific analysis by creating records, assigning analytical tests, and allocating samples for analysis. Maintaining chain-of-custody for controlled samples. Inputting results and liaising with clients. Applying organizational skills to meet tight deadlines. Responsible for all scientific administrative tasks including lab administration and housekeeping activities. Working in accordance with laboratory-set quality standards. Demonstrating high-quality customer service by ensuring timely completion of work and accuracy of analytical data. Assisting with routine checks/calibrations and control documentation. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
Qualifications / Skills needed A relevant scientific discipline. Competency in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role including MS Office applications. Basic lab equipment experience, preferably with work experience in a scientific environment. Attention to detail, following written instructions, and managing multiple activities concurrently. Accountability, honesty, hardworking, flexibility, and adaptability. Good written and verbal communication skills.
