The
Lab Assistant
is responsible for cleaning, preparation & maintenance of laboratory equipment. They will also be responsible for consumables and chemical stock checks, purchasing and inventory management. This position reports to the
Sr Manager, Validation & Lab Ops
and is located in Harbourgate, Portsmouth. This position will be an on-site role. What you will do: Cleaning, preparation & maintenance of laboratory equipment. Fully understand and comply with H&S procedures, sample handling and waste disposal procedures (for hazardous and non-hazardous materials). Consumables and chemical stock checks, purchasing and inventory management. Participate in continuous improvement of laboratory processes. Understand how various laboratory systems (including purchasing, calibration, materials inventory) are maintained. Responsibility for maintenance of such a system may be assigned. Who you are: School leaver level qualification (minimum GSCE or equivalent) in English Language and Math’s @ grade C or higher (or equivalent). Ability to exchange information accurately, ask questions and check for understanding. Confident following defined procedures and executing practical work instructions. Good written and verbal communication and numeracy ability. Conversant with PC based programmes. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Understanding of good documentation practices. Join our winning team today.
