This is a full time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. No laboratory experience required, full training will be given.
Responsibilities
Accept deliveries of samples/equipment onto site. Accurately and rapidly register samples/equipment for analysis and dispatch samples to the relevant business location. Liaise with couriers, customers, and Eurofins drivers to enable timely collection and dispatch of work to external and internal facilities. Follow standard operating procedures and safe working practices to ensure the safety of self and colleagues. Ensure that all equipment is kept within recommended limits for calibration and maintenance in order to adhere to quality targets. Maintain a clean working environment. Keep relevant sample logs up to date. Ensure correct temperature storage of samples on receipt and prior to processing. Code and log samples onto the in-house IT System (FGS). Adopt a flexible approach to assist other departments as required. Dispatch Adhoc samples and consumables to clients. Answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls to follow up on customers, maintaining a high level of customer service at all times. Ensure high levels of communication between the Sample registration team and other microbiology departments to ensure each sample is prepped correctly. Exercise vigilance when looking for any sub-sample to retest. Keep up to date with sample storage and discards.
Qualifications
5 or more GCSE’s, or equivalent. Experience in working as part of a team. Good organization and time management skills. Good communication skills. Able to self-motivate.
