Cure Talent are delighted to be partnering with a groundbreaking development stage wound care company based in Birmingham to find an exceptional Advanced Wound Care Scientist. Join them in driving technological advancements in wound care! As the new AWC Scientist, you will be a key member of the R&D team, contributing to the creation of new prototypes and supporting the New Product Development (NPD) process. This includes designing experiments, executing advanced wound care laboratory methodologies, and working closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to bring new products to market. To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced scientist with a proven track record in the Advanced Wound Care sector, strong technical expertise in laboratory testing methodologies, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. You will combine excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and confidently liaise with external partners. Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimise antimicrobial wound dressing prototypes (e.g., gelling fibres, foams, powders, hydrogels). Design and execute experiments to generate data supporting functional and performance specifications. Conduct advanced laboratory test methodologies such as free swell absorbency, retention, coefficient of friction and tensile strength. Support ongoing shelf-life studies and routine testing regimes. Utilise analytical techniques to characterise prototypes and identify key performance parameters. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant scientific field. Proven laboratory experience within the Wound Care sector. Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and advanced test methodologies. Proven knowledge and experience of free swell absorbency, retention, total fluid handling, tensile strength and coefficient of friction. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
