We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Support Assistant to join the Laboratory Management Team (LMT). The purpose of this role is to carry out routine tasks to aid and support the smooth running of the day-to-day activities of the laboratory, including waste management and stock control. Our Laboratory Management Team is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the laboratory suites. The team is accountable for the day-to-day activities of the laboratories including cleaning, waste management, stock control, and overseeing equipment servicing and calibration. Your responsibilities in this role would be: The timely removal and decontamination of clinical waste from the laboratory suites ensuring a compliant working environment. To prepare and maintain disinfectant solutions to the correct concentration appropriate for use. To collect and clean used laboratory glassware and general laboratory items. Maintain consumable stock levels for the laboratories. Regular cleaning of the laboratories and associated equipment. Ensure clear concise information is passed onto team members. Be the point of contact for laboratory inquiries by Scientists regarding waste control and consumable requests. We are looking for: A minimum of GCSE grade 4-9 in English and Mathematics or equivalent level. A good standard of English both written and spoken. The ability to follow standard operating procedures. A team player with a positive willing approach.
