Main Purpose of Job: Responsible for testing of raw materials, blended materials, and finished products. The role will also include undertaking routine analysis of waste streams to assess appropriate routes for disposal. What you will be doing: Ensure all raw materials delivered to site(s) are tested in-line with company sampling plans and procedures. Ensure all finished goods including by-products leaving our site(s) are tested in-line with company sampling plans and procedures. Ensure all in-process, effluent and water samples are tested in-line with company sampling plans and procedures. Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment as required. Prepare and package laboratory samples to be shipped off site for external analysis. Manual handling will be involved to support the storage and retention of samples and disposal of laboratory waste streams. All technicians are expected to demonstrate good laboratory maintenance and practice including general laboratory housekeeping. Participate in training and personal development activities as required. Your key relationships will be: Senior Laboratory Technician Quality Manager Operations Staff Process Chemist Skills and behaviours you will need to be successful: Previous experience in a laboratory environment – Essential Strong Analytical Skills - Essential Problem solving – Preferred Ability to use MS office suite (Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint) - Essential Ability to work on own initiative as well as within a Team Able to adapt to new situations as the workload might change at short notice due to operational needs. Be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to your role Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the Company. Specific qualifications required: Level 4 or above required in a science based subject – Preferred Level 3 qualifications in a science based subject – Essential.
