Acting as part of a team, the Laboratory Technician will carry out a full range of RF and IR Seeker testing and integration activities in accordance with all relevant processes, standards and requirements. In this role the Laboratory Technician will take

ownership of the laboratory and ensure that a high level of discipline is maintained. Salary : Circa £40,000depending on experience Dynamic (hybrid) working : 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification Security Clearance : British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA

The opportunity: The MBDA Seeker & Datalink Systems Team design and develop state of the art RF and Dual Mode (RF and IR) seekers for use in guided missile programmes. An exciting opportunity exists for a Laboratory Technician with broad based skills in electronic design

to take a central role in a number of laboratory-based activities. The role requires an individual with good technical skills, a high degree of enthusiasm, a determination to deliver products to the right standard within the required timescales and the authority

to maintain a high degree of professionalism and integrity within the lab. The Seeker hardware team provides the design solutions to systems requirements including the build and test of designs from concept to full scale production systems. The Seeker hardware team have a proven track record in understanding and developing RF/microwave

sub-systems to meet demanding customer needs and constantly develop new technologies aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our products. What we're looking for from you: Technical Skills and Experience Knowledge and experience gained in radar or microwave design and development

Knowledge of high frequency RF and microwave electronic circuits

Knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuits

Familiarity with radar, control systems and digital signal processing an advantage

Ability to diagnose hardware problems using various methods; e.g. visual inspection & data analysis in both the design and production phases of a project

Experience of working with other teams including systems and manufacturing

Act as Safety Zone Manager for the building with subsequent SHE duties (future objective)

Other Skills and Experience Previous laboratory workshop experience

Ability to mentor and encourage less experienced staff by sharing knowledge

Consistent ability to deliver required output within agreed timescales

Willingness to learn about projects, tools & methods

Essential to be able to build good working relationships with team members and external departments, suppliers and customers as well as a persistence to get the job done
