Laminate Design Engineer
to join our F1 Engineering office here at Williams Racing working on a wide variety of projects. This is a fast-paced environment and to succeed in this role the candidate will need to be adaptable, demonstrate initiative and enjoy working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. As a
Laminate Design Engineer , you will: Transfer Design and Structural information into manufacturable instructions. Generate laminate wireframes using CAD. Produce Laminate Plybooks and associated documentation to agreed standards. Create 2D DXF files for transfer to the Kitting Department using Fibresim. Assist with laminate enquiries from in-house and sub-contract companies. Support Composite Design when required on various projects. Promote best design practice, including driving continuous improvement to enhance design for manufacture capabilities. Our ideal candidate is someone who: Has a good understanding of composites engineering and manufacturing technologies. Hands-on experience is beneficial. Strong CAD skills, ideally with experience of NX and Fibresim; however, training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems or beginners. Has a creative, proactive approach to problem-solving, along with attention to detail. Possesses a friendly, collaborative outlook, with good communication and organization skills. Can prioritize work to varying deadlines. Exhibits clear and concise documentation skills. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
