Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham Pinnacle Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a pro-active, self-motivated and experienced Land Director to join one of the leading providers of Student Accommodation and Build to Rent schemes in the UK. The client is a highly regarded investment fund that is part of a larger group investing in a number of high profile construction projects throughout the UK and has an excellent track record for professionalism and project delivery. The role is to work and lead within the New Business team to identify, bid, successfully secure and obtain planning consent for large development opportunities (which will be 150+ unit, £30m GDV) for the use of purpose-built student accommodation and some build to rent opportunities. The role will require detailed knowledge of high-density student areas that urgently require student accommodation, these areas include Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester and Leeds. It is imperative the successful candidate is familiar with these locations and has recent background or experience in the provision of purpose-built student accommodation and the current market. If you have strong contacts and working relationships with key stakeholders (Universities, advisers, and landowners), this will also be an advantage. In addition to identification, appraisal, and acquisition, the successful candidate will project manage deals by liaising with all relevant stakeholders ensuring timely delivery, developing and leading on the acquisition strategy and conclusion of any post-planning requirements and handover to technical and development teams. Responsibilities for the role include: Responsible for sourcing new purpose-built student accommodation and BTR land opportunities through a diverse network of contacts Successfully acquire or have terms agreed on at least 2 sites per annum that will produce a minimum GDV of at least £30m and 150 units Proactively manage the progression of each potential development opportunity Negotiate fees and appoint consultants, manage the consultants Review and appraise consultant reports, drawings, vendor information packs, to understand the deal structure and development costs and viability Be aware of legislative changes and updates as they will affect land acquisition, student accommodation, and planning decisions Manage and mentor the team reporting in to you This is an excellent opportunity that will suit a confident, results-driven Land Director who knows the student accommodation market.
