We are looking or a Launch Quality Engineer to join our growing Quality team. Our Launch Quality Engineer will provide support to the business with new and existing processes, supplier base and customer relationships. The individual will ensure development and compliance both internally and with the supplier base, to ensure customer satisfaction. They will have experience on best practice, defect protection and reductions in variation and wastes. They will set out and plan the route to PPAP and PSW and champion the customers’ requirements. What you’ll be doing as our Launch Quality Engineer: Dedicated quality support to the Launch function for advanced projects. Provide back-up support to the current quality department. Reporting on Quality performance through all the build phases. Responding to customer concerns. Problem solving and investigation with containment and permanent actions. Support of lessons learnt through the build phases. Process audit and pokeayoke check. Champion rework process and ensure issues are fed back into Design and Engineering. Champion for gauges and work aids. Champion our APQP requirements. Supplier base auditing and technical assistance. Set out and plan to ensure the deliverables for PPAP are achieved. Control documentation including defined review schedule and tracking of high risk issues. Implement and lead standardisation throughout the business. Produce product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends. The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Launch Quality Engineer: Excellent time management skills with a target driven approach. Ability to work under pressure, independently and within a team Ability to use problem solving tools and work with stakeholders on solution to problems. Excellent skills in MS Office and communication to all levels of the business Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail. Experience of Lean manufacturing Excellent communication and people skills Flexible approach with excellent organisational and administrative skills. Need to have: HNC / HND minimum or higher in Engineering. 5+ years’ experience working in a Launch Quality role. Experience working in the Automotive component manufacturing industry. Nice to have: Experience with furnaces and high temperature applications. CNC Machining experience. Quality auditing qualifications. Certified lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Experience in SAP Business One / Beas.
