This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated, innovative, compassionate and clinically-experienced registered clinicians to join the newly established Learning Disability and Autism (LDA) Outreach Team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. These exciting new clinical leadership Band 7 roles will involve working in collaboration with other LDA Outreach colleagues, community learning disability and autism colleagues in addition to colleagues from 'The Brook' our 10-bedded Learning Disability and Autism inpatient unit. Our team will include broad multidisciplinary representation - Mental Health and Learning Disability nursing in addition to AHPs with Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy backgrounds. We are seeking an experienced mental health nurse with current NMC registration. Additionally, you will have clinical knowledge and experience of working with adults with a learning disability and/or autism. You will have advanced clinical leadership skills and be able to prioritise and manage workload. You should also have excellent safeguarding, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act knowledge in addition to advanced interpersonal, communication, formulation and risk assessment skills. Main duties of the job

Post holders will require the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multiprofessional team. A central part of the role involves triaging, assessing, planning and delivering complex care packages to admission-vulnerable service users across Devon and for those discharged from The Brook, whilst ensuring proactive liaison with other partner agencies, families and care providers at every stage of care. Communication and working relationship skills

Excellent communication skills including the ability to engage with large groups who may be antagonistic. Ability to produce well written reports. Ability to chair and participate in meetings which encompass complex organisational structures. Qualifications

A UK registered professional learning disability or mental health nursing qualification eg RNLD, RMN, Nursing Degree, Qualified Occupational Therapist with extensive learning disability and/or mental health experience, Speech and Language Therapist with extensive learning disability and/or mental health experience. Postgraduate qualification relevant to specialism or commitment to work towards. Further specialist training to masters equivalent level. Training to level 3 in Safeguarding Adults, Children and Young People: roles and competencies for Health Care staff or commitment to work towards. Excellent clinical assessment skills. Ability to manage change in a positive manner. Physical Skills

Ability to be mobile across a county-wide geographical area. Computer literacy. Knowledge

Specialist knowledge and experience in working in learning disability and autism services. An excellent understanding of the NSF and Mental Health Act/Mental Capacity Act requirements, Awareness of community structures and social care options and processes. Understanding of Positive Behavioural Support and Trauma Informed Practice. Experience

Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment. Extensive experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of mental health needs. Substantial experience of working at a senior clinical level. Working within a community mental health, learning disability or neurodiversity setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector. Providing clinical supervision and managing staff. Setting up or working within a new service. Experience of managing and developing services. Analytical and Judgement skills
