Lead Accountant - About The Role
The position will be leading the finance team, reporting into the Finance Director to ensure robust financial controls are adequate, in addition to compiling the month-end reporting pack for the leadership team. Prepare the month-end reports to be presented to the Finance Director in readiness for the leadership team meetings. Working as a business partner to the budget holders, ensuring accountability surrounding the variance results. Manage and lead the budget process and implementing controls as required. Preparation of the statutory accounts for all subsidiary companies, working with the auditors (internal and external). Oversee the transactional finance including purchase ledger, sales ledger and treasury functions. Responsible for ensuring that VAT and statutory returns are completed. You will play a key role in the infrastructure development including reporting and processing. This position would suit someone who is looking to take a step up facilitating a number 2 position or someone who is already working at a similar level. The role offers a suitable combination of reporting, operational and strategic involvement and you will be working in a collaborative working environment.
The successful Lead Accountant will have/be:
A formal qualification in finance with a minimum of 3 years' post qualified experience. Experience of working within public sector or education would be highly desirable. Excel knowledge to an advanced level.
