Risk and Vulnerability Assessments:
Conduct thorough assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities associated with water engineering projects and water infrastructure. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate and manage these risks effectively. Emergency/Security Planning:
Create comprehensive emergency and continuity plans tailored to the unique aspects of the water industry. Ensure these plans align with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices. Training and Exercises:
Design and implement training programs for clients to enhance their capabilities in mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery from emergencies. Design and deliver emergency response exercises to test the effectiveness of plans and identify areas for improvement. Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to integrate emergency management considerations into various project phases. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to resilience and sustainability deliverables. Environmental and Asset Management:
Contribute to environmental and asset management projects, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices and resilience to emergencies. Independent and Team Contributions:
Work independently to meet specific objectives while actively participating in team efforts. Provide valuable insights and expertise to support the collective success of the team and organization. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, emergency management, Security, Environmental Science, and/or a related field. Proven experience, with a focus on water engineering (or related) projects. Strong understanding of risk and vulnerability assessment methodologies, emergency planning, and incident response. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and collaborate across departments and regions. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards in water, emergency management, and environmental practices. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and make sound decisions. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering emergency management, Security, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certifications in emergency and continuity management, such as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), or equivalent. Experience with the implementation of environmental and asset management systems. Previous experience working in a consulting or engineering firm. Knowledge of water-related regulations and industry-specific challenges. Experience with international projects and a global perspective on emergency and continuity management.
