Job Purpose To work within a Technology Services product team to drive and shape the strategic direction and vision of the company through business analysis tools and techniques. Ensuring a fit for purpose service that helps technology solutions land well and, in a cost-effective way. To be the expert and primary point of contact for the company in the various business analysis disciplines including tools, techniques and approaches. Job Accountabilities Work with the Head of Product and stakeholders of all levels across the product area to drive and shape the strategic direction of new requests through business analysis tools and techniques. Provide direction, challenge and counsel as appropriate for new needs. Build strong working relationships with impacted business areas, including stakeholders at the highest levels of the company in order to understand the outputs needed and use this insight to build quality outputs. Work with Product Owners to help define the product vision, prioritising features according to business value. Communicate complex problems very clearly and articulate the cost, risk and benefits of change options to business stakeholders so they make informed choices. Build deep business knowledge and understanding of business strategy & vision to bring significant insight into the analysis work. Advise on and apply the appropriate methodology, tools and techniques for analysis of the business problem and its components. Develop, create and update critical project documentation for the impacted areas so that the business can understand the impact to their people, process, systems and data. Evaluate the financial, cultural, technological, organisational and environmental factors which must be addressed in the change. Work as part of the Technology Services team to drive through continual change and improvement in the way we deliver change for United Utilities. Provide expertise when needed for more complex business analysis activities. To provide a high level view of size and shape of new needs. Knowledge and Skills Proven experience delivering a Business Analysis service to projects/ programmes of different size, scale and complexity. Significant experience in successfully delivering a Business Analysis service ideally at a senior level with the ability to shape and provide direction of Business Analysis activities. Must hold professional qualification in the discipline with evidence of its practical application in the workplace (e.g. BCS). Can evidence strong leadership within a product team. Must be resilient and adaptable. Able to build effective relationships and to influence decision makers. Experienced and effective in liaising with and leading senior stakeholders through all phases and steps of the analysis process. Able to work across and influence a range of business areas and functions. Knowledge of other UU systems is advantageous such as Tableau, SAP, Salesforce. Able to facilitate workshops with stakeholders at all levels. A strong understanding of business areas and process and the contribution of components (systems, policies, protocols, behaviours, etc.) to the overall performance of the areas. To have built or be able to build deep business knowledge to enable you to bring significant insight into your analysis work. Can demonstrate an expert level understanding of Business Analysis tools, techniques and templates. Competent in Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
