We ensure reliable, scalable, and safe power management systems through high-quality panel construction and technical expertise. The Lead CAD Engineer will be the point of contact for all aspects of the CAD team, working with Project Managers and clients/customers. This role is responsible for the production of detailed and accurate drawings that meet project specifications and industry standards. The CAD Engineer also assists in project planning and in the preparation of reports, technical submissions, designs, and drawings. This role has responsibility for quality, process, and the high standards our customers expect. Responsibilities: Manage the CAD standby team. Liaison with clients and outside parties/contractors to ensure accurate and detailed designs are produced according to key requirements. Attend site and project reviews as required, take detailed survey information, and provide feedback recommendations. Provide support in the development of construction and technical solutions to meet customer/client specific needs. Provide input into the planning of projects and assist Project Managers in correctly scoping out projects, with timelines and verification activities. Assist in the preparation of clear reports, technical submissions, designs, and drawings. Continuous development of good technical understanding of all areas of CAD drafting, AutoCAD, MEP, BDS, REVIT, and BIM. Maintain knowledge of appropriate technical standards, legislation, codes of practice, and UK standards. Lead technical improvement initiatives. Assist in the generation of AVK standard drawings. Assist in the production of new AVK branding drawings. Other departmental activities as requested by the business. Qualifications: Management experience preferred. Qualification in Design or a relevant field. Proven experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar. REVIT/BIM – Essential skill. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
