WHAT TO EXPECT JLR is looking for an experienced and driven Charging System Design Lead Engineer to join our Electric Power Control Chapter. This exciting opportunity involves leading the design and delivery of charging system functionality for our future BEV/PHEV products. You will act as the single point of contact for all allocated charging features and core charging system design functions, collaborating across various product squads and teams, including Propulsion Product Groups and the Central System Integration (CSI) team. In this role, you will work closely with system validation and verification engineers to develop innovative solutions tailored to specific vehicle architectures. Your responsibilities will include guiding and mentoring C-grade system design engineers, conducting technical and design reviews, and ensuring that all system design artefacts are created and approved for new feature content. You’ll be responsible for understanding stakeholder needs, defining feature and system enhancements, and driving system validation processes, all while working autonomously and taking full ownership of your work. To succeed in this role, you must have a solid track record in the design and delivery of charging systems, with a focus on the premium customer experience for JLR users. Your role will require close collaboration with various teams, including electrification services, software developers, and subsystems teams, to ensure the seamless integration of charging features and system enhancements. You must also be comfortable reviewing and providing guidance to junior engineers, helping to shape the technical direction of the team. This is a dynamic and highly impactful role where your expertise in charging system design will directly contribute to the next generation of JLR’s electric vehicles. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Knowledge, Skills and Experience Working & delivery experience on Charging and / or HV System design. Experience in electrified powertrains or distributed control systems. Knowledge and working experience with system engineering principles. Experience in creating system and logical architecture diagrams (SAD & LAD). Experience in writing Charging / HV Systems requirements. Experience using System modelling and requirement management tools. Expert in presenting work at Agile ceremonies, senior tech review forums.
