The Lead Clinical Perfusionists will work with the Clinical Perfusion Manager to develop perfusion services that align with the Trust's short- and long-term goals. They will also lead their own service delivery projects, contributing to the department's strategic development. The Lead Clinical Perfusionist must also be an experienced autonomous practitioner who will be responsible for cardiopulmonary bypass procedures in adults undergoing a range of cardiac and aortic surgery. All accountabilities are in addition to what would be expected of a Senior Clinical Perfusionist. The post holder will balance their time between clinical, administrative, and managerial responsibilities as needed, ensuring that service delivery targets are consistently met while maintaining the highest standards of care. The Lead Clinical Perfusionist will work with the Clinical Perfusion Manager to provide professional leadership and the operational management of the Perfusion Department, ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources and the development and maintenance of the highest standards of patient care and service delivery. Qualifications & Education
Essential MSc. in Clinical Perfusion Sciences plus a minimum of five further years advanced theoretical and practical training. Professional registration with The College of Clinical Perfusionist Scientists of Great Britain & Ireland. Evidence of Continual Professional Development. Desirable Fellowship of the College of Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland. Relevant managerial qualification and experience. Advanced accreditation certificate of the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland. Knowledge & Experience Essential A high level of practical expertise and experience of a wide range of advanced clinical perfusion practices and procedures and their development. Five years' experience at Senior level or above. Management experience including the development of staff and management of projects. Experience of clinical audit. Able to work within and outside of the department, with credibility out of area. Desirable Research publications. Dissemination of knowledge through publication.
