Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Data Engineer to spearhead our digital transformation initiatives and improve Powys' healthcare data integration.

The Lead Cloud Data Engineer will play a crucial role in developing Cloud-based data solutions that integrate clinical and administrative data across departments, partner Health Boards, Trusts, and Social Care organisations. This role is key to enhancing patient care coordination through the development of analytics platforms and shared care record systems.

This is a permanent full-time position within the Digital Directorate.

The role is based in Bronllys Hospital, although agile working is encouraged and supported. Successful applicants must be able to occasionally travel and work on site, with a flexible approach to home working.

Main duties of the job Design and implement Cloud-based data solutions Develop and maintain data pipelines for clinical and administrative systems Design data integration processes between healthcare applications Lead the technical development of a shared care record system Drive adoption of FHIR standards and emerging technologies Chair high-level meetings and present to stakeholders Ensure data quality, governance, and security Collaborate with stakeholders across NHS Wales and commissioned English Trusts

Job responsibilities The successful candidate will have: Strong knowledge of Cloud data engineering and healthcare data Experience developing healthcare data integration solutions Understanding of healthcare information systems Excellence in stakeholder management and communication Experience with data governance and security in healthcare settings Excellent communication skills will be required to engage with staff and stakeholders at all levels within Powys and external organisations.
