Role Overview
Due to our ongoing success and expansion, we are looking for skilled and ambitious Head of Cloud to lead our cloud team. Working with our development and architecture teams to design, deliver, and support cloud solutions that are redundant, scalable, and cost-efficient to support our multiple cloud platforms across aviation, security, fuel management, and manufacturing industries. The ideal candidate will be able to lead and develop best practices for our cloud engineering function, designing and implementing the most optimal cloud solution using the latest tools. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, capable of working both independently and as part of a team, and continuously looking to improve their skills.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a team of 4 cloud engineers. Maintain existing systems on cloud and data centres. Migrate customers from old versions of systems to the Cloud. Migrate databases to the Cloud. Maintain existing systems. Uplift architecture with a Kubernetes project. Technical Skills
Minimum 5 years' experience in AWS cloud environment. Experience in configuration management, containerisation, automation, and infrastructure as code. Demonstrable experience in working with web services, including public APIs, REST, and other web platforms. Experience in designing and implementing best practice cloud solutions. Supporting Windows Active Directory / Windows Server environments. Experience in supporting relational databases. Good technical ability and understanding of networking infrastructure. Experience in working to and delivering to deadlines. Ability to effectively communicate in English (written and verbal). Experience with networking such as Site to Site VPNs, Subnets, Firewalls, etc. Highly Desirable But Not Essential
Cloud certification. Oracle DBA experience. Scripting in Bash and PowerShell. Experience in moving applications to the cloud. Experience in supporting .NET / Java applications. Our Recruitment Process
Initial 5-minute call with HR to explain the process and provide more information about the role. Practical Assessment covering AWS, Linux, Bash, Networking, Security, Git, Docker, and SQL, comprised of multiple-choice questions, coding challenges, and open-ended questions. This can be done in your own time and typically takes 1 hour depending on skill level. 30-45 minute interview with our Chief Technology Officer. 45-minute Final Stage interview with our Director of Technology.
