Lead Colposcopy Nurse

within

Gynaecology Outpatients

has arisen. This is a permanent post at 31.6hrs. Queen Margaret Hospital

is the only Colposcopy Unit within NHS Fife. The aim of the unit is to provide colposcopy investigation to the NHS Cervical Screening Programme (NHS CSP). The unit also supports Gynaecology Minor Surgery and other gynaecology outpatient services. As a Colposcopy Practitioner, the Lead Nurse will utilise high levels of specialist clinical assessment, decision making, and clinical judgment. They will work autonomously to assess patients, perform and analyse test results, and formulate appropriate treatment plans. Working closely with the Lead Colposcopist, the Lead Colposcopy Nurse will be responsible for leading and developing the team within Gynaecology Outpatients, ensuring safe staffing levels, competence in respective roles, and maintaining standards within the clinical environment. You must be a

NMC Registered Nurse , with evidence of postgraduate Level 11 (Masters) education and significant post-registration experience in Gynaecology. You will have undertaken BSCP accredited training to develop skills in colposcopy diagnosis. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the

Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG)

Scheme prior to appointment. Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part-time hours. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
