Lead Community Occupational Therapist – Allied Health Profession £49,541.20 - £51,259.49 per annum (Grade L) inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. A relocation package applies to this post and we will pay interview expenses from within the UK. Are you an ambitious occupational therapy professional looking for both a fresh career challenge, and a better quality of life? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Occupational Therapist to join our joint NHS Shetland and Shetland Islands Council Occupational Therapy Service. Could you lead and manage a team of community based occupational therapists in the Shetland Islands? Can you adapt to the challenges of working in an integrated health and social care team and find creative solutions to supporting people to live in their own homes and actively participate in their local community? If so, we would love you to join our friendly, supportive team. You will be responsible for delivering a specialist service to people in the community who are experiencing mental and physical disabilities, to enable them to live as independently as possible. This includes ensuring the team are offering Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention aimed at enhancing function and preventing deterioration through reablement and the provision of specialist aids and housing adaptations. You will be responsible for line managing Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants, including the following functions: equipment and adaptation service, telecare and community alarms, Blue Badge assessments, reablement and sensory impairment. The role will be central to maintaining excellent services for our clients, and also the strategic development and implementation of new and innovative services in rapidly changing environments, working alongside the OT Team Leader and other Allied Health Professional colleagues. You will have excellent organisational skills and be a clear and effective communicator. Experience in delivering and developing operational services to defined standards and targets, as well as personal motivation and ability to motivate others are essential. You must also possess an Hons Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent Diploma) and be registered with Health and Care Professions Council. Additional Information
