Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. This is an exciting time to join the HSBC UK Credit Risk Management team. We have multiple roles available due to continued growth and investment across Retail Banking. These opportunities can be based across Leeds, Birmingham, Chester & Sheffield with Hybrid working from home. You will have the opportunity to work with an award-winning function (winners of best credit modelling & risk team of the year, consumer credit team of the year, best use of technology in 2021 and Outstanding Conduct in Collections -2022). As part of our package, we provide a range of training to support your continued development of banking, credit risk, leadership and technical skills. In this role you will: Data Pipeline Development: Assist in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using tools like Spark, Airflow, Control-M, SAS or R. SQL Proficiency: Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse data from large relational databases. Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure but particularly Google Cloud (GCP). Knowledge of data storage, management, and orchestration would be an advantage. Data Quality and Validation: Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data through quality checks, monitoring, and validation processes. Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to ensure data solutions align with organizational needs. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: Degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field would be beneficial. 1-2 years of experience in data engineering, data management, analytics or related fields. Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with cloud data solutions. Knowledge of data processing tools (Spark, Hadoop, etc.) and ETL best practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in Python, R, SAS for data processing tasks; familiarity with version control (eg Git) is desirable.

This role can be based in Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield or Chester.
