Lead Data Scientist is a role for our most experienced and adept Data Scientists. You will be given some of our most difficult and challenging problems to work on. These problems could range from structured data problems through to image recognition.

The Lead Data Scientist will spend a large proportion of their time building AI solutions and solving business problems, but they also have a responsibility to develop the wider team and ensure an excellent standard of work is maintained. This will take the form of structured training, collaboration among the Lead community, as well as peer reviews and technical sign-off for models. We are looking for Lead Data Scientists to work in either our Pricing, Claims and Operations Data Science teams, as well as contributing to wider initiatives including our MLOps strategy and optimizing the model lifecycle and its corresponding governance.

About You

This involves the formal sign off of projects from a technical standpoint. Develop, analyse and oversee the implementation of AI solutions. Work closely with the Data Science Managers, Subject Matter Experts and Senior Management to understand and solve problems by asking the right questions and driving the delivery of appropriate solutions. Remain up to date with trends and developments in technology and techniques in the external Data Science community. Provide training within and outside your team. Desirable Skills and Experience Significant experience working in Data Science or a relevant field, in a Data Scientist role or equivalent. Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, with the confidence to challenge business leaders using simple and compelling language. Passion for mentoring and supporting other members of the team. Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate's experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.

At Admiral, we are proud to be a diverse business where we put our people and customers first. We have great benefits to ensure employees have a great work-life balance; it's one of the reasons we're consistently voted one of the Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For in the UK.
