The Lead Design Engineer will work closely with the wider engineering team, project management, and procurement teams to ensure that products meet customer needs while focusing on safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery. A major element of the role is the management of large composite models, equipment interfaces, and top-level assemblies, as well as driving standardization across the project. Minimum Requirements: Minimum of HNC in mechanical engineering with a recognized time-served apprenticeship. Experience in bulk material handling within a similar design role environment. Understanding of heavy engineering, bespoke engineered technical solutions, and process plant design including equipment such as, but not limited to, belt and screw conveyors, elevators, screens, crushers, shredders, filtration, and pneumatic conveying systems, within the mineral, chemical, and food processing industries. Experience in value engineering processes and continuous improvement. Proficient in 3D drawing packages, Solid Edge or Inventor (Tekla considered). Proficient in AutoCAD 2D drawing package.
