We are on the lookout for an experienced lead design manager to join our exciting creative team. We are looking for someone who is driven and passionate about leading and delivering a creative commercial product vision for the category. The role will need you to deputise for Head of Design and lead your team to deliver trend, events direction, and divisional or cross-divisional projects in line with strategic business objectives. You will need to collaborate effectively with collaborators, demonstrating a proactive and forthcoming attitude while staying updated on the latest design and social trends. Inspire the design team to deliver product that is aligned to the F&F brand strategy with an always-on approach to identifying and driving new product opportunities as they emerge in the market. Drive key seasonal strategy across departments, delivering key events/trends/key items ensuring that the seasonal strategy is logically and commercially thought through. Anticipating the needs of the F&F customers, using sales data, customer profile analytics and trend research to deliver commercial product ranges that resonate. Lead POS/Press Lines, online Edits, Magazine, with key collaborators for your area. Representing/deputising for my HOD at cross divisional meetings when required. Lead on researching, presenting macro trends to the business every season, jointly across Clothing and Home, along with strategic recommendations. Understanding what this means for my category and implementing projects that support this in a collaborative way to ensure we are chasing customer demand correctly. Attend key sign offs/range builds/creative reviews with key collaborators. Present key business strategy to the leadership team. Take responsibility for relaying bigger picture messages to the design team in a timely, digestible and relatable way. Ensuring team members understand the next steps applicable to them. Building strong relationships with supplier partners and external collaborators. People Management and Relationships

Inspiring, developing and motivating team members, providing them with clear direction and regular feedback. Manage, support and coach your team to line manage effectively. Take responsibility for the growth and development of everyone in the design team and lean into any performance issues. Lead in the recruitment of new talent and be a key strategic voice in the structure and placement of internal team members. Have the ability to manage upwards, across and down effectively. Track budgets, samples, travel and general spend. Lead my team as a role model; live and breathe inclusive leadership. You will need

A degree in Design (product, fashion, furniture, textiles, surface pattern, decorative arts). Relevant industry experience within a design product retailer. Experience of working cross-functionally/multi-category to deliver initiatives that have a positive commercial impact. Proven ability to drive the success of a department or brand through strategic and commercial thinking. Experience with Photoshop, Adobe, CAD. Strong organisation skills, initiative, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to build great relationships with colleagues across the business and suppliers alike. Can gain agreement from the team and management to potentialise opportunities. Embraces, role models and champions the benefits of change within the wider team. Demonstrates an effective and inclusive leadership style, role modelling positive behaviours and providing the team with clear direction and development. Comfortable travelling in the UK and internationally for supplier/product development meetings and inspirational purposes. About us
