Targeted Equipment Interference (TEI) is a capability that is growing significantly in demand, and in response to this the national network is growing. The Lead Dev Ops Engineer will play a key role in this, sitting in the central TEI team and working on nationally coordinated projects to develop technology that will transform UK policing operations. The key responsibilities for the role holder will be to act as the technical subject matter expert for the team, providing oversight and assurance for capability design. The role will work with Senior Investigators to understand operational requirements, and then work to fulfil these by leading, directing and managing various technical projects. This requires the role holder to be on the forefront of innovations, continuously striving for improvements and challenging traditional technical policing methods. This is an extremely varied and fulfilling role, working in a highly collaborative team environment to think outside the box and deliver highly creative capability solutions. To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience of programming and have knowledge of emerging technology trends. This requires expertise in an area such as vulnerability research, exploit development, penetration testing or database architecture. You should also be a collaborative worker, with a passion for learning and growth, and a desire to learn new skills. This role is expected to be largely hybrid working, with time split between working from home and travelling to different locations across the national network for business purposes. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence. Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. How to Apply:
