Lead DevOps Engineer - Salary Circa £50,000 National. Salary Circa £70,000 London. This role forms part of the Security Engineering Team; working within the wider Group CISO (Chief Information Security Office) business unit. As the Lead DevOps Engineer, your primary focus is to define and run an effective DevOps lifecycle by maintaining appropriate tools, expertise, and processes to develop enhancements to Aviva's security stack.

A bit about the job: You will be responsible for leading a team of DevOps engineers to streamline the software development process, improve system reliability, and enhance overall operational efficiency. You will be expected to deliver an ambitious and highly diverse pipeline of work across multiple SAAS and cloud environments, whilst maturing the existing service and building out and developing the team. Lead and mentor a multiskilled team of DevOps engineers developing a strong culture of technical excellence and ensure core DevOps methodologies are implemented to the highest standard. Develop the technical skillset of the team and foster an environment that promotes self-development. Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to design and implement automated deployment pipelines. Identify and develop opportunities to grow the DevOps function into new business areas from where to provide added value. Proactively manage environment costs to remain in budget and identify opportunities to reduce cost. Maintain the effective operation of multiple CI/CD pipelines which underpin core security services and support continuous delivery approach including tooling and automated testing and deployments.

Skills and experience we're looking for: Extensive experience in a DevOps or cyber security operations role within an enterprise environment. Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies within Continuous Integration - Continuous Deployment frameworks. Expertise in DevOps technologies such as Infrastructure as code, automation, Vault, Version Control and a proficiency in scripting languages. Experience with containerization technologies. Ability to produce High Level Designs (HLD), Low Level Designs (LLD) cloud architecture designs as well as supporting documentation. Demonstrable proficiency in a high-level programming language and practical experience integrating applications using web service calls and APIs (REST, SOAP, etc).
