About the Role: The Lead Electrical Estimator will play a key role in delivering accurate project estimates, managing cash flow, and driving business growth through strategic market research and client engagement. Key Responsibilities: Estimation & Proposal Preparation: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to prepare detailed estimates. Develop cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, overheads, and contingencies. Market Research & Business Development: Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and industry trends. Build and maintain client relationships, pursue leads, and secure new tenders. Financial Management & Reporting: Work with the finance team to manage project cash flow and align with company goals. Back-test estimates and prepare performance reports with actionable insights. Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to clarify project requirements and offer cost-effective solutions. Provide regular updates and address any queries regarding cost or project changes. Project Team Collaboration: Support project managers in ensuring budgets are adhered to during project execution. Facilitate seamless handovers from estimating to project implementation. Future Leadership Opportunities: Mentor and manage a growing team of estimators as the business scales. Develop training resources and foster a culture of collaboration and efficiency. Typical Weekly Schedule: Monday: Review tender performance, delegate tasks, and send supplier RFQs. Tuesday-Wednesday: Focus on mark-ups and take-offs for active tenders. Thursday: Develop client relationships and submit tenders. Friday: Analyze past tenders and update reporting systems with findings. What You Bring: Strong analytical and financial management skills. Excellent communication and client management abilities.
