This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity out of one of our offices near Leamington or Bicester where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

The Opportunity:
As a Lead Engineer you will have full ownership for delivering an Exteriors system across one or more platforms, leading the technical direction, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. What you’ll do:
Ownership of relevant function group. Define the requirements for systems function and integration. Define the boundaries for systems function & integration. Manage interface with Styling. Engineering responsibility (including design and release) of full exterior systems, including some but not all of: Bumpers, Exterior Trim, Body Panels, Accessories, Mirrors, Glazing, Washer and Wiper Systems. Design for manufacture and assembly for responsible components, ensuring responsible designs meet legal compliance. Work Package Management. Design Sizing Analysis: Sub system loads, Joints and interfaces, Materials selection, Bolt calculations. Assembly level simulation, cost, timing and mass. Mentor and support professional development of all colleagues, particularly junior staff. To perform any other duties that may well be reasonably expected within the remit of the role. To ensure compliance with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy requirements within areas of responsibility. Prepares and manages scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. Delivers complex commodities by taking ownership, leading and developing a team to produce high quality output. Develop technology roadmaps for function group. Who you are:
Previous experience within Automotive Exteriors. Significant and proven Exteriors experience, knowledge and experience. A ‘can do’ attitude and are always focused on achieving great results. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders & drive towards a common goal. A calm multitasker who successfully managed, prioritise and executes against deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
