Lead Engineer – About the role:

The role is part of the Engineering Department and involves working effectively with the Projects, Production and Quality Engineering teams and Manufacturing Department.

As our Lead Engineer, you will:

Design market leading products applying sound engineering practice in a timeframe consistent with the business objectives. Liaise with customers through the quotation and pre-production phases in order to understand customer needs and provide class leading technology. Apply innovation to product design, optimising value added performance characteristics and functionality to gain competitive advantage. Interpret and apply relevant engineering standards, legislation, certification and customer compliance requirements. Compile design reports, stress calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and other relevant design validation methodology. Apply significant specialist knowledge in technology, certification or industrial applications to New Product Development.

What We Are Looking For: Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification or experience. Knowledge of valve design technologies – relevant experience in materials, mechanics, engineering mathematics, magnetics, fluid power, corrosion, stress and thermodynamics. Knowledge of fluid power applications and circuit design, component selection, installation methods, performance interactions and control systems. In depth understanding of modern manufacturing methods, inspection and assembly techniques within a precision CNC engineering and electronics environment. Sound understanding of technical risk mitigation, design validation and qualification methodology. Proficient in engineering software as applicable, 2D and 3D CAD, FEA, CFD, Mathcad, MS Office, preferably using Autodesk platforms (AutoCAD, Inventor, Ansys).
