To provide support to the Finance and Trading departments in all areas of margin, supplier income and profitability reporting. To complete weekly, periodic and quarterly reporting requirements and be a key player in the quarter-end hard close, forecasting. To develop, motivate and mentor the team appropriately. Role Scope:

The Lead Financial Trading Analyst will be responsible for the production and analysis of key reports for Trading and Finance which are used to monitor and report on all aspects of trading performance. To drive the business and provide value-adding management information required by senior management and Musgrave Group. In addition to this mentor the team and be responsible for development and motivation of direct reports. Key Activities:

Manage the production and preparation of weekly reports to strict timelines (including sales & margin analysis and supplier income). Assist the Financial Trading Analysts in the preparation of periodic management accounts to strict timelines. Support the budget and forecast process with a key focus on managing all aspects of gross profit, within the timeframes laid out in the forecast and budget timetables. Business Partner with the Trading teams and assist in driving continuous margin improvement including supplier negotiations, streamline reports and margin variance analysis. Management of direct reports including PDR process and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Any other reports/information as requested by senior management. Measures:

Reporting and management accounts delivered to agreed timelines. Production of high-quality budget and forecast reports in line with MNI reporting deadlines. Timely and professional response to queries/requests for information raised by Finance, Trading, the Management Team or Musgrave Group. Provide support to the Financial Planning Manager and the trading function. Knowledge and Skills:

Essential Qualification and Experience: Fully Qualified accountant. At least 2 years’ experience as a Financial Analyst, Management Accountant or similar role, gained in a fast-paced commercial environment. Previous experience of margin reporting and variance analysis. Previous experience of budget/forecast preparation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially with respect to large data sets. Ability to plan and prioritise workloads to agreed deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability to work on own initiative. Ability to build strong cross-functional/departmental relationships. Desirable Qualification and Experience: 3rd level qualification in Business, Finance or Accounting. Previous experience in the grocery retail/wholesale sector particularly in the area of margin/ profit analysis. Exposure to Oracle systems. Musgrave is an equal opportunities employer.
