This includes: developing the information infrastructure to support high quality information analysis; improving mechanisms for measuring, understanding and improving the quality of data held in the data warehouse; contributing to the development of information services; effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders; and providing support to others to develop their knowledge and skills. The post holder will understand how critical good management information can be in the NHS, and will be responsible for ensuring that reports are developed in response to the needs of the business. Main duties of the job

To lead and provide support to operational and corporate teams to enable them to interpret the available data to enable judgement on actual performance and the ability to deliver operational plans using statistical analysis where appropriate. To provide detailed analysis in order to model demand, resources and throughput to ensure appropriate balance of provision and to identify variances between supply and demand to facilitate discussions of service change, provision or development. To lead the analytical work within services to assess capacity and demand for each clinical service, identifying areas of service pressure, undertaking gap analysis and support the production of option appraisals. To work alongside the other corporate functions including HR, Finance and Quality to investigate and respond appropriately to queries from internal and external sources in relation to operational and strategic reporting at all levels of the organisation. To lead on the implementation of the data quality framework and supporting tools into their area of the business, ensuring that the right staff have access to the right tool in order to monitor and comply with data quality standards. Qualifications

Educated to Master's level in a health information or mathematical/statistical subject or substantial post qualification experience in Informatics roles. Experience

Significant experience of working within a senior analytical position. Demonstrable experience of using Business Intelligence/Reporting software to develop data visualisations. Experience of programming or complex query-writing using SQL. Experience of using the Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack (particularly SSRS and SSIS). Knowledge

Expert knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and modelling (such as Statistical Process Control, Funnel Plots, modelling future demand, population growth etc.). Understanding of the development/management of enterprise level relational databases. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
