Job purpose: The role involves providing both proactive and reactive support to maintenance engineering teams across the Specialist Technology HIP Europe facilities. You will help drive the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), ensuring the continuous and safe operation of equipment while minimising incidents and breakdowns. This role offers an excellent opportunity to travel, with up to 60% of time spent visiting European sites.


Key responsibilities:

  • Travel & remote support to HIP Europe sites to assist with reactive and planned maintenance activities, including fault diagnosis and emergency repairs.
  • Managing/delivering small projects related to equipment improvements or installations.
  • Performing tasks to enhance asset reliability and overall plant efficiency, including managing the MMS (Maintenance Management System) and ensuring spare parts availability.
  • Assisting with contractor coordination for the servicing of plant, machinery, and related services.
  • Standardising procedures for the safe operation and maintenance of HIP units.
  • Supporting the implementation of 5S principles in maintenance areas and sharing best practices across sites.


Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • HND in electromechanical engineering or similar qualification (NVQ level), with hands-on experience.
  • Proven experience in mechanical breakdown repair of plant, machinery, and services.
  • Experience working with compressors, gas handling, and electrical systems.
  • Ideally, experience with PLCs and control systems.
  • Fluency in English (German/French is an advantage).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with MMS software is a plus.
  • A team player with a collaborative attitude, flexible approach, and a strong drive for results.
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Must be able and willing to travel across Europe (up to 60% of the time), with all necessary travel documents (passport, visa, etc.) in place.

Must haves:

  • Experience and knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Familiarity with 5S principles (Separate, Simplify, Systematize, Standardize, Sustain).
  • Determination, a passion for learning, and a proactive approach.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
