Our client, a leading and busy £750m contractor operating within the commercial, life sciences, healthcare, datacentre, and pharmaceutical project sectors within the UK and Europe, requires an M&E lead to deliver a £70m life sciences project based in Berkshire. The desired individual will be suitably qualified, preferably with a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, with the relevant accreditations and over 8 years of experience managing multi-million-pound projects at a senior/lead level from a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or commercial project sector background. The ability to work and commute to West Surrey, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire areas as required is essential. Your responsibilities will include: Managing the M&E aspects of the project by providing weekly reports and updates to the Project Director and the Client. Driving productivity by following weekly and daily work plans. Coordinating design work with team and subcontractors. Supervising the progress of ongoing work. Ensuring Quality and Safety measures are achieved and managed effectively. Overseeing and coordinating the Mechanical installation of the development. Engaging with project stakeholders including the client. Liaising with design teams and subcontractors to ensure project delivery on time, budget, and according to scope. Leading project management and their subordinates. Ensuring efficient and effective engineering and innovation performance shaping the program and delivery of the project. Developing Project Planning Strategies - collaborating with the project teams to manage and motivate them. Managing, tracking, and developing plans for project costs, budgets, project labour, commissioning procedures, and project performance. Directing the set up for the project, ensuring that best practice meeting and reporting documentation and schedules are implemented from the outset. Continuously engaging with key project stakeholders such as Client and Design Teams to ensure project performance. Overseeing ongoing client satisfaction with the project, especially in terms of cost, scope, and timescales. Proactively monitoring the project's health & safety processes as well as the team's culture and behaviours. Monitoring and ensuring the quality targets are achieved and exceeded on the project. Being responsible for technical compliance as well as ensuring complete and accurate handover information. Reviewing and issuing Technical Submittals in line with project specifications. Reviewing and issuing RFI’s. Managing a team of Electrical engineers & package managers. Engaging with supply chain and vendors. Communicating technical issues as they arise with the project management team. Monitoring and reviewing engineering progress. Qualifications Required: Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant qualifications.
