About the Role: As the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll take a pivotal role in the design and development of automated machinery. You'll work closely with the client's in-house teams to deliver robust and efficient solutions, leading projects from initial concept through to manufacture.

Responsibilities:

Lead the mechanical design process, focusing on stainless steel structures and steel fabrications. Produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimised for production. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. Ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements.

About You: To succeed in this role, you'll need: Extensive experience in mechanical design, ideally in automated machinery or similar industries. Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks. Strong knowledge of designing with stainless steel and steel fabrications. A solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, and assembly. Excellent communication and leadership skills. A relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent).
