You will act as a lead specialist in your field with detailed knowledge and understanding of current issues and legislation relating to Looked After Children, Care Leavers, and vulnerable children placed away from home, with freedom to take action, based on your own interpretation of board clinical/professional policies, advising the organisation on how these should be interpreted. You will use your experience of working as a health visitor or school health nurse and experience of working with children, young people, and families, with a focus on child development, attachment, mental health, sexual health, Public Health, and children with disabilities. You will have experience of planning and delivering individual specialist health promotion/intervention programmes and provide specialist health advice to multi-agency care assessment and operational planning of services for Looked After Children (LAC) and Care Leavers, working closely with Local Authority Social Services Departments. The post holder will have the ability to function effectively autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary/agency team and the ability to prioritise and manage time and caseload effectively. You will be able to manage change and service development and able to positively promote the agenda for Looked After Children.
