As the Lead Nurse for Stroke, you will be a highly visual, dynamic, forward-thinking Nurse with excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills and the ability to motivate and support others through change and service development. You will be working 40% of your time in clinical duties as a stroke coordinator at PCH, and direct line manager of the Stroke Coordinator Nursing team, you will also provide professional guidance, leadership and direction to the Stroke nursing teams across the organisation. You will play an integral role in the operational and strategic developments of the service across the stroke pathway, by working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, Clinical Lead, Divisional Operation Manager, Service Manager and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the team is empowered and skilled in the delivery of outstanding care to service users across the pathway. In collaboration with the Clinical Lead for Stroke services you will ensure stroke services at the trust meet national standards, including improving status in Stroke sentinel national audit programme (SSNAP). Main duties of the job

Be an accountable professional acting in the best interests of people, putting them first and providing complex clinical care that is evidence-based, person-centred, safe and compassionate. Use existing knowledge and expertise and enhanced levels of clinical judgement to independently undertake complex and holistic assessments. Act independently to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate complex care using enhanced clinical assessments, diagnostics, and intervention. Act as an expert resource within their own organisation and for external agencies. Develop, deliver and evaluate education and training opportunities for others within own scope of practice. Communicate effectively in challenging environments and situations with patients, their families/carers and the multi-disciplinary team. Promote and encourage innovative clinical practice to support a culture of excellence within the wider health and care team. Lead and manage unpredictable and unplanned clinical situations. Participate in resource management, strategic service development, planning and service improvement. Lead, monitor, develop and appraise staff and learners. About us
