This role will support the Clinical Pharmacy service within ESHT, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely and be supported by both the Lead Divisional Pharmacist for Medicine and the newly created Medicines Value Programme Lead Pharmacist, in further developing this role. The Medicines Value Programme is a new and ambitious project that is designed to provide enhanced medicines optimisation within the specialisms with a commitment from the Trust to develop exciting, advanced pharmacist practitioner roles. These roles are designed to support practitioners who wish to develop a portfolio of practice for credentialling against advanced and consultant level frameworks. We are looking for a forward thinking and motivated pharmacist who is looking to take a step into leading on pharmacy projects and developing a scope of practice within one or more of the specialist medicine clinical specialities at ESHT. These are Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Neurology, and Dermatology.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be involved in providing support to Specialist Medicine areas within the Medicine Division. You will work closely with clinicians, senior nurses, and managers within the Division, and you will also provide support and input into the Clinical Pharmacy service by helping to provide support for leadership supervision and developing colleagues and trainees. As such we are seeking a patient focused pharmacist aiming to build on established clinical skills who will work closely with clinicians in providing a high-quality service to patients within ESHT. Someone who demonstrates a commitment to personal and staff development.

Qualifications

Essential MPharm GPhC registration examination (Vocational master's degree in pharmacy (4yrs) and 1 year preregistration training and experience) Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacist Diploma / MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or pharmacy practice or demonstrable other equivalent post-graduate qualification or experience e.g., RPS Faculty membership at foundation or advanced level CPD portfolio that demonstrates an ongoing commitment to personal development

Desirable NHS Leadership qualification such as leading for change Independent prescribing qualification

Experience

Essential 1 year pre-registration training and experience Significant post registration experience as a hospital or specialist primary care pharmacist within a specialist field Experience in utilising information technology within the workplace including inputting, retrieving information and producing reports Good IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook

Desirable Experience of working with clinicians and a proven track record for influencing change within a directorate or specialist role Previous experience in providing directorate support Previous experience in mentoring and training pharmacy staff Has previous Line management experience
