Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

Be a key part of the AO Software Engineering Leadership Team. Work with SLT and teams, leading on the definition and sign off/decision making on domain driven design, aligning software teams to present and future demand. Lead on the definition of AO software application, strategic review, significantly contributing to the application strategy, software domains and AO software teams bounded context. Lead on definition, decision making and design of campaigns for technical improvements, e.g. improve our security posture, clean-code, and visibility of engineering KPIs. Establish frameworks, deciding software design standards and embed those into delivery. Lead the Principal Developer and Enabling Team on improvements in software domain boundaries, applying efficiencies in provisioning, build, deployment, run/maintain and the DevOps cycle. Act as a technical point of escalation for software teams, mentoring and coaching on what good looks like for software and architectural principles. Contribute to content for software clean code and good software standards, sharing your expert knowledge in our education and development community. Work with Tech SLT to improve the software delivery process, determine KPIs and source consistent KPIs. A Few Things About You

You do not need to be an expert in everything, but we are looking for someone who has a broad range of skills and experience, with a bias for leading, taking ownership, critical thinking, collaboration, efficient software development, and a real desire to drive continuous improvement. You will be able to demonstrate: Strong leadership traits and ability to drive collaboration across multiple teams. Taking ownership, providing solutions, or thinking critically about as-is and to-be software domains and bounded context. Able to communicate with a range of stakeholders, adapting style to accommodate varying degrees of technical understanding, with good empathy and the ability to influence. Leadership of leading teams, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and develop their knowledge and skills. An ability to design and build secure, scalable, distributable, maintainable, and high-performance software. A good understanding of working with legacy code bases and refactoring code. Proficiency in agile delivery, value slicing, WJSF and WIP, and a passion for agile deployment and low lead times to ship software. A Bit About Us
