Working Pattern:

Permanent / Full Time

As the Lead Process Engineer, you will:

Perform process studies for technical evaluation of process solutions.

Be technically competent in own discipline and actively maintain own competence according to standards and pursue continuous professional development.

Provide value-adding knowledge to constructability reviews and take consideration of layout restrictions, ergonomics, safety, utilities, and maintainability.

Check and approve generating calculations against design code and best practice. Have excellent experience in managing team delivery, assigning work, monitoring progress, inputting weekly timely progress to planning tools and attending planning and resource meetings to ensure team resource and delivery progress aspects are maintained.

Have experience in producing deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client’s policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified.

Sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes therefore required.

Location:

Glasgow – hybrid working 3 days in the office with flexibility to work from home for 2 days.

You’ll have experience of:

Sizing and selecting of Pressure Safety devices Relief Valves which is essential.

Generating and checking & approval of Process Engineering deliverables (P&IDs, PFD’s, Safety Device Calculations, Equipment Sizing, Hydraulic and Control valve sizing Calculations, Datasheets, Line Lists, Cause & Effects, Alarm & Trip, Control & Operating Philosophies, Process Reports and Basis of Design).

Specification and selection of Process instruments for Process operation and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) is essential.

Process Simulation Software such as HYSYS and UNISIM. Dynamic simulation which is highly advantageous.

Excellent understanding and calculation of AIV and FIV in process systems.

Excellent Knowledge of typical process equipment which is essential and to be demonstrable. Typical equipment to be experienced within the role include Separators, pumps, heat exchangers, gas compression, vessels, tanks, chemical injection.

Mentoring graduate engineers.

Proven capability in an engineering design company / EPCC support role experience.

Calculating and Specifying Process Safety Time for Safety Instrumented systems.

Writing/checking/approving system Scopes of work for 3rd party specialist vendors.

Participating in safety studies such as: HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA and design safety reviews.

Understanding and calculation of Pressure Surge in process systems.

Producing, checking, and approving deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client’s policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified. Sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes therefore required.

Supporting business development for new bids (Understanding scope, preparing deliverables and process activities and CTR preparation and process narratives).

Qualifications

BSc in relevant Engineering Discipline

Chartered Engineer status

Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking/Approval

Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines

Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards

Understand the application of Autodesk Design products

Competent in the use of MS Office applications
