Job Description

Our client, a leading provider of innovative digital primary source collections, is seeking a Lead Product Manager to drive the design and delivery of valuable software products for both the organisation and its customers. In this role, you will lead and develop the product management team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and proactive decision-making. By balancing operational efficiency, strategic vision, and hands-on product management, you will enable the business to deliver impactful, incremental solutions that address both customer and business needs effectively. Lead Product Manager: Key responsibilities Work with departmental and business leadership to develop and refine the product vision and the strategy for the technology department Build strong, collaborative relationships between engineering, design, and other business teams such as Editorial, Customer Experience, Sales, Marketing, and Engagement, fostering alignment and trust Line manage Product Managers, supporting their professional development and performance Maintain deep expertise in the needs of our customers and the business, performing research and engaging with leaders and stakeholders across the business Identify and prioritise opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals through data-driven insights and stakeholder consultation Ensure our delivery teams are focused on value and impact and understand success metrics. Support and guide teams in implementing Continuous Deployment and facilitating Continuous Discovery Support customer-facing colleagues with the communication of the product vision, development plans and new releases, based on a deep understanding of our customers and their needs, in a way that supports departmental priorities. Lead Product Manager: Skills/experience Significant proven expertise in product management, including prioritisation, roadmap ownership, stakeholder management, and requirements elicitation. A strong understanding of specifications definition techniques including Behaviour Driven Development practices and tools A demonstrated ability to research and effectively share solutions to problems Expert communication and collaboration skills Solid analytical, critical thinking, and reasoning skills, with the ability to present or debate arguments from different perspectives Highly self-motivated, organised, and adaptable. Skilled at managing time effectively and thriving in dynamic environments. Proactive in identifying opportunities and driving results while fostering collaboration Experience in mentoring or leading product teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement A strong understanding of iterative development and product management techniques Committed to learning and exploring new technologies and approaches.
