West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Residential Care Officer to join our Adult Social Care Service at Willows Edge Care Home. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative environment, where you can contribute to the continuous improvement of our care services.

As the Lead Residential Care Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation and management of the residential care service. You will be responsible for:

Leading and supervising a team of dedicated care staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support to residents Monitoring and maintaining standards of care, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements Conducting regular reviews and assessments of residents' needs, implementing appropriate care plans Providing guidance and support to staff in the delivery of person-centred care Handling enquiries, complaints, and feedback from residents and their families Contributing to the overall continuous improvement of the care service In the absence of the Registered Manager, you will also assume responsibility for the overall management of the service alongside the deputy manager. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Extensive experience working within a residential care setting, with a strong understanding of the principles and practices of care delivery. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating the ability to motivate and inspire a team In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards governing residential care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise tasks effectively A commitment to continuous professional development and improvement in care standards
