Role description: We are looking for a talented and driven Robotics and Control Engineer, to lead and guide a growing team of extremely talented software and embedded systems engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in control theory and mobile robotics, to help design and develop innovative control solutions for our cutting edge manned and unmanned marine platforms. Responsibilities will include: Owning, maintaining and delivering technical milestones in line with business roadmaps for the software and control systems team Line management, agile task management and technical leadership Software architecture design for surface and underwater vehicles in line with system requirements, including API definition and management Research, design and drive innovative solutions to technical issues for mobile platforms, including closed loop control, vehicle stabilisation, autopilot, path-following and more Conducting peer reviews to ensure designs are fit for purpose, extensible and re-usable Production of comprehensive design and development documentation Engaging with other engineering teams to understand and define software requirements Qualifications and Experience: Required: Degree level qualification in Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or equivalent experience Excellent understanding of control theory Proven experience with mobile robotics projects Proven software development experience in modern C++ Desirable: Experience with surface and/or subsurface marine robotics Experience with ROS or ROS2 Experience with Embedded systems, such as STM32 Experience with CAN based industry standards, such as CAN 2.0b, CANOpen, NMEA2000 Working knowledge of Machine Learning and/or Computer Vision techniques Note:

Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum Existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.
