Barnet, North London At Clarus Education, we are working alongside a Primary School in the heart of North London, Barnet, who are looking to appoint a Lead SEND Teacher for their Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP). The ARP is for children who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) with a primary need of autism. They opened in October 2018 and currently have children from EYFS up to Year 6. The provision is divided into two classes: (Reception and KS1) and (KS2). All children in Forest Lodge are also part of their mainstream class and access learning in both classes across the week where appropriate. The ARP provides a broad and balanced curriculum that is differentiated appropriately based on the individual needs of the children. Alongside the core subjects, there is a strong emphasis on learning in the following areas of the curriculum: Communication and Language Personal, Social and Emotional Development Physical Development (including health and self-care) Life Skills The ARP offers weekly life skills sessions that often involve visiting the local community. This supports the children to transfer the skills they have learnt at school into the wider world. Some examples include the park, cafe, supermarket and using public transport. They also work on road safety, stranger danger and following instructions. Children in the ARP also have access to specialist support through Speech and Language Therapy, the Autism Advisory Team, Occupational Therapy as well as other services and therapies e.g. Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). Staff work closely with external agencies to plan jointly, set individualised targets and support ongoing learning. In the ARP, the children have access to an autism-friendly environment and classroom, a soft play/therapy room, sensory room, a kitchen for life skills as well as their own outdoor playground and garden. Qualifications • DfE Qualified Teacher status (QTS) – Essential! • NASENCO Award – ideally completed, if not in progress Experience The Lead SEND Teacher & Leader should have experience of:

SEN Teaching experience, ideally with Primary pupils but open to SEN Teachers with experience of teaching other age groups Experience of supporting pupils with Autism and SEMH needs Leading or contributing to Annual Reviews Engaging with external agencies and parents/carers in review meetings Experience of implementing effective and impactful behaviour management approaches and strategies The Head of the ARP is keen to interview the right candidates ASAP ahead of September 2025, so apply NOW for this fantastic Lead SEND Teacher & Leader position!
