Job Description

Lead Software Engineer - Fixed Term contract - 1 year - base + bonus plus benefits Are you ready for the next step in your engineering career? Would you enjoy working on our cutting-edge products? About our Team We are strengthening our software engineering team to modernise our existing application stack, powering one of LexisNexis IP’s flagship products, PatentSight+. This team keeps the current monolithic stack running while shifting current features into a new, serverless stack by refactoring existing code or adding new features as microservices. This is an opportunity to join a team and lead the works on modern, cloud native infrastructure and become an essential part of building the new architecture. We expect this team to be working across multiple technologies around a core including: React JavaScript AWS (such as Serverless, AppSync, CDK) GraphQL About the Role Join our team as a Lead Software Engineer, where you will oversee software development and guide a small, highly skilled agile team. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the UK, Germany, Netherlands, and the USA to modernize our application stack and build new features as microservices. Responsibilities Lead and communicate effectively within and across teams. Break down and implement new features such as a Sharing Service, Smart Search Engine, and User Data Manager. Build AWS platform infrastructure using CDK, NodeJS/Python Lambdas. Refactor existing applications. Write and review detailed specifications for system components. Participate in development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Operate in various development environments (Agile, Kanban, etc.). Requirements Experience with modern React frameworks. Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud providers, including serverless architecture. Understanding of software engineering techniques and processes. Experience with GraphQL or similar API schemas is beneficial but not essential. Familiarity with C#, SQL, Python, or JavaScript is advantageous.
