Job Title: Founding Software Engineer Job Type: W2 This role is for our client that is currently in seed stage and looking to grow out their engineering team. As a lead engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining the core infrastructure and systems that power our platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions. This is a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on the direction and success of our company from its early stages. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend systems and APIs that support our product roadmap. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and iterate on features. Take ownership of end-to-end feature development, from conception to deployment and monitoring. Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and performance optimization. Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy in alignment with business goals. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve our technical stack and development processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience in developing backend systems and APIs in a production environment. Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go) and familiarity with related frameworks and libraries. Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling principles. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Bonus: Experience with microservices architecture, DevOps practices, or security best practices. Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 + equity + benefits
