Our client in South Yorkshire has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join them in a Lead Vet capacity. As a Lead Vet, candidates will have experience in a broad scope of clinical cases, both medical and surgical. Candidates must be at AVP level or close to achieving this. Surgical skills should include:
TPLO/TTAs or equivalent, spinals, fracture repair
Complex soft tissue (e.g., perineal urethrostomy, TECA, BOAS, thoracotomy)
Candidates will also have softer skills based around leadership and management, including empathy and communication skills.
As well as ensuring excellent clinical standards are maintained and improvements made where required, the successful candidate will focus primarily on the clinical performance of the practice and clinical team. Much of the more traditional managerial aspects are handled by the Practice Manager. This is a great role for vets wanting to learn about the ins and outs of running a business before one day opening their own practice. For vets looking at ownership, partnership is a very real, easily achievable option for this practice.
