to work within a primary school setting, supporting young children with additional needs who may display challenging behaviours. In this rewarding role, you’ll assist children in managing their behaviour, teaching coping strategies, and encouraging communication skills using tools like PECS and Makaton. You’ll play a vital role in fostering independence and supporting their developmental milestones. Some personal care duties may be required. Key Qualities of the Ideal Candidate: Behaviour Management:
Experience in managing challenging behaviours, particularly in primary school or care settings. Communication Skills:
Familiarity with PECS and Makaton is ideal (training available if required). Personal Attributes:
Patient, nurturing, and empathetic, with an understanding that all behaviours communicate a need. Collaboration:
Willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and developmental goals. Record-Keeping:
Able to monitor and accurately record progress in line with the National Curriculum and individual needs.
