Job Description

About the Role ACT is seeking a motivated and experienced Learning & Development Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role will be crucial in shaping our culture by designing, implementing and optimising learning and development programs, as well as providing comprehensive support in various HR functions, including employee relations, assisting with employee queries and resolving issues. You will work closely with the People & Culture team, department leaders and employees, creating a vibrant and engaged workforce empowered to achieve their potential and contribute to ACT’s overall success. Key Responsibilities Learning & Development Program Management:

Design, develop, and implement learning programs, including professional development, leadership training, and role-specific training. Oversee the development and rollout of personalised learning paths based on job function, career progression, and identified skill gaps.

Needs Assessment & Strategy:

Conduct training needs assessments through surveys, meetings and collaboration with managers to identify skill and knowledge gaps. Develop a learning and development strategy that aligns with ACT’s goals and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement. Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.

Employee Development & Coaching:

Provide career development guidance and resources to employees to support their growth and retention. Coach managers on ways to encourage and support development within their teams. Collaborate with the People & Culture Manager and department leaders to support performance appraisal processes and identify high-potential employees for leadership or specialised training opportunities.

Learning Management System (LMS) Oversight:

Manage and optimise ACT’s LMS, ensuring course content is updated and accessible. Track and analyse ACT’s LMS usage and completion data to assess the impact of learning initiatives and make strategic improvements. Work with external vendors to source new training content or platforms as needed.

Employee Relations:

Address employee queries and concerns. Mediate and resolve conflicts to maintain a positive work environment. Conduct investigations when necessary and recommend appropriate actions. Respond to all employee queries on the shared People Mailbox.

Key Requirements CIPD Level 3 or 5 Qualified in Human Resource Management or Learning and Development. 2/3 years’ experience as a People Advisor, specifically in Learning and Development or a related HR role. Proven experience developing and facilitating training programs. Strong understanding of employment law in the UK. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Learning Management Systems and e-learning platforms. Ability to analyse situation and provide effective solutions.
